Synopsis by Dan Pavlides
A Filipino couple Rosa Rosal and Tony Santos endure 20 years of life in a small village in this sentimental melodrama. Le Roy Slavador plays their deaf-mute son who must rise above his handicap to help the beleaguered family after his father is murdered and his sister (Marita Zobel) is raped. The family survives tropical storms that destroy crops while another son (Carolos Padilla) goes off to Manilla to seek his fortune and escape the crushing poverty of the village.
