As this animated thriller opens, two classified military androids are unleashed during a plane crash. Sybil, a reporter, arrives on the scene to get the story. When the soldiers destroy one android, the other goes after Ferris, the granddaughter of their inventor. Only Sybil can get to Ferris in time to save her. This feature is directed and written by Japanese comic-book artist Masamune Shirow who wrote the original story on which the successful Ghost in the Shell was based.
