This video is part of a series that profiles the lives and accomplishments of some prominent Black Americans. This program tells the story of Harriet Tubman, who earned the title "Moses", for her efforts in leading black people out of slavery on the Underground Railroad. Herself an escaped slave, Tubman arranged for the safe passage of thousands of people from the South to the northern United States and Canada. With a bounty on her head, she continued her work freeing slaves, and then serving as a nurse, scout, and spy for Union forces during the Civil War.
