Synopsis by Daniel Gelb
This biopic chronicles the incredible journey of Brazilian soccer star Pelé (played as a young boy by Leonardo Lima Carvalho, and as a teen by Kevin de Paula). Birth of a Legend focuses on his youth in the slums of São Paulo and his rapid ascension to the national team, where, at the age of just 17, he helped lead the squad to their first ever World Cup victory in 1958. Vincent D'Onofrio co-stars. Directed by Jeff and Michael Zimbalist.
