Synopsis by John Patrick Sheehan

A&E's award-winning series Biography profiles the lives of the "world's first two people," Adam and Eve, biblical characters described in the Book of Genesis as the first man and woman created by God. Adam was formed from the dust of the ground and God's breath or spirit; Eve was made from Adam's rib. Biblical traditions describe their life in the garden of Eden, their disobedience and banishment, and the birth of their sons Cain, Abel, and Seth. Their fall into sin is portrayed as a temptation by the serpent (the Devil) to disobey God's command not to eat the fruit of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil. Many further traditions emerged in later Jewish and Christian writings. Features the combination of interviews with biblical scholars, location footage, paintings and artifacts to take an in-depth look at Adam and Eve.
