Synopsis by Sean Hurley

The award-winning Bilingual Baby series is geared for children ages one through five, and utilizes the Total Immersion Method of language training, a widely used technique which presents the material exclusively in the language being taught. Experts agree that language acquisition is easiest during these first years of brain development and that the acquisition of one non-native language can facilitate the acquisition of additional languages throughout life. The series seeks to take advantage of this period of flexibility, teaching the child upwards of 60 words and phrases. In addition to learning the meaning and pronunciation of the words, large subtitles help the child develop reading skills in the chosen language. Small English subtitles allow parents to follow along. Bilingual Baby: Italian introduces the Romance language of Italian.
