An endangered species---the American bighorn sheep. Although few have seen the elusive animals and little is known about them, the sheep are prey to attrition. Hunters value them for their horns and land developers encroach on their territory, forcing them to higher altitudes where food and water are scarce. The study focuses on one Rocky Mountain ram and contrasts him with other groups of North American wild sheep. Cameras also record the marking of sheep with dye to trace their migration patterns. Narrator John Denver wrote the program's music.
