Synopsis by Hans J. Wollstein
Paramount's series of silent comedies teaming Wallace Beery and Raymond Hatton ended with this slapstick tale of feuding mountain families. Powderhorn Pete (Beery) and Dead-Eye Dan (Hatton) are former circus men hired by Old Man Beagle (Anders Randolph) and his clan to do away with their hated rivals, the Hicks family. The gun-phobic duo, however, are totally inept as hit men and decide instead to maneuver both the Beagles and the Hicks into permitting young Jim Hicks (Gardner James) to marry Beagle's daughter (Mary Brian). In the process, Pete and Dan rile up both sides against them and avoid getting shot themselves only through sheer dumb luck. The marriage ends the feud for good, although the two peacemakers wind up being chased out of the territory.
