In seventeenth-century Tuscany, sheltered nun Benedetta (Virginie Efira) navigates the volatile socio-political landscape of counter-reformation Italy. As she continues to experience unusual visions, the faithful across the country revere her prophecies, deeming her a Catholic mystic.
