Synopsis by Clarke Fountain
What would Americans give, one wonders, for a film documentary interviewing the founders of the country? This 1972 Israeli film recounts the life and accomplishments of Israel's first Premier and one of the key figures to bring about its creation, David Ben-Gurion. In addition to interviews with Ben-Gurion himself, the film includes interviews with such luminaries as Golda Meir, Abba Eban, Moshe Dayan and others. The great man's story is illuminated by film clips showing him with, among others, Charles de Gaulle, Eisenhower, and Truman.
