Synopsis by Janiss Garza

A millionaire (Herschel Mayall) is traveling through the West with his daughter (Anna Luther) when their train wrecks. The girl, uninjured, wanders over to a nearby town with her suitor, an English earl (Edward Cecil). But they are separated, and a coarse, lusty ranchman (George Walsh) snatches her up and runs off. A band of Mexicans chase after them because they want the girl's jewels, but the pair escapes by crossing some rapids. After they pull themselves together, the ranchman tells her he's sorry that he impulsively ran off with her, and she decides he's not the beast she thought he was. He takes her to a spot where her father's searchers are sure to find her and disappears from her life for a number of years. But eventually he spiffs himself up and goes to the city in search of her. A clubman he has befriended teaches him manners and he is introduced to the girl, who doesn't recognize him. She only realizes who he is at a masquerade ball, when he appears dressed up in his cowboy clothing, and they are finally reunited.
