At various times during the previous century, the residents of the island nation of the Philippines attempted to win independence from Spain, and this costume drama, set in the 19th century, follows one peasant revolutionary (Julio Diaz) who fought the Spanish, only to lose his life due to the independence groups' internal squabbles.
