Synopsis by Rose of Sharon Winter

This documentary follows the events of the decisive Six Day War, that established Israeli military dominance in the Middle East. Long standing disagreements over access to the Jordan River was one of the underlying causes of the war. Border disputes with neighboring Arab countries, and the "Palestinian problem" of refugees were also factors. These and other issues are discussed by political analysts and historians. Israel's victory resulted in its occupation of the Sinai Peninsula, the Gaza Strip, the Golan Heights, and the Jordanian held West Bank and East Jerusalem. This increased the total area of Israel to about four times that within its 1949 armistice borders. The film explores the results of the Six Day War as containing the seeds of future conflict.
