In this six-part documentary series, the CEOs of several major companies, organizations, and public institutions were invited to "spend a week at the bottom of the career ladder." Specifically, the executives chosen were whisked away from their cushy panelled offices to the workplace itself, where they learned firsthand what it was like to be an ordinary salaried employee. Among those given a taste of life at the bottom were the CEOs of Wedgwood China, Burger King, Carnival Cruises, New York's Central Park, London's Heathrow Airport, and an unnamed women's prison. Based on a British original telecast by the BBC in 1998, Back to the Floor aired in America over PBS from June 14 to July 19, 2002.
