Synopsis by Hal Erickson

Jack Holt plays Jim Burke, a he-man construction foreman whose stomach is turned by his namby-pamby, violin-playing son Jimmie (Jimmie Butler). He forces the boy into manual labor, hoping to toughen the kid up. Jimmie proves what he's made of when he rescues his dad from an on-the-job accident. The elder Burke is so delighted that he allows his son to return to his violin. Someday there's going to be a book called "Conditional Love in the Cinema", and The Awakening of Jim Burke is going to be Chapter One.
