Synopsis by Nathan Southern
Hailing from New York with Dominican roots, the all-male band Aventura has culled a devoted following on the heels of its July 2002 sophomore album, We Broke the Rules. As a band that melds a little-known form of Latin pop - the Dominican style of bachata - with more traditional urban hip-hop and R&B - Aventura assuredly stakes its claim to uniqueness. The band appears live in the home release, Aventura: Sold out at the United Palace New York and performs such numbers as "La Pelicula", Llorar, "La Guera", and "Osesione", backed on occasion by vocalist Judy Santos.
