Synopsis by Nathan Southern

In the hour-long documentary Australia's Backyard Killers, naturalist Greg Grainger offers ample evidence that the deadliest and most venomous Australian creatures are scarcely confined to the outback; to the contrary, many are commonplace enough that they have begun inhabiting the backyards of suburban homes - terrifying Aussie residents with the spectacle of tarantulas turning up in the front grass or an alligator prowling along the bottom of the family pool. Species on display in this outing include mouse spiders, funnel-web spiders, paralysis-inducing bees and a Gwarda with a taste for swimming pools, plus snakes that turned up in cupboards and saltwater crocs that became entangled in backyard fences.
