Synopsis by Rose of Sharon Winter

This film is part of the Australian Ark nature series, which informs the viewer about the unique flora and fauna of the island continent. This episode explores the stark scrub land of Western Australia. Among the plants and animals that catch the camera's eye are the giant baobab tree (as wide as it is tall), parrots and cockatiels, lizards, and numbats (marsupials that thrive only in a few eucalyptus forests). The environmental forces that shape the world of these species are examined, set against the colorful scenery of this portion of the Australian outback.
