This film is one of a series produced for The Disney Channel featuring stories on the world's endangered species. The series is aimed at the young audience, to teach them about the natural world and conservation issues. This segment looks at the bat, a nocturnal mammal whose qualities are unique in the animal kingdom. It flies by radar, using its membranous wings that extend from forelimbs to hind quarters, to navigate and hunt prey. The film has excellent film footage of the awesome sight of bats exiting their caves en masse. The young viewer can gain a greater appreciation for this small aviator by watching the film.
