Synopsis by Alice Day
The disturbing topic of experimental radiation treatments on unsuspecting Americans is investigated in Atomic Guinea Pig. In the 1950s, several groups may have been subjected to radiation treatments, whose possible long-range effects may have not been fully explained. These activities were supposedly condoned by the government, and military personnel were among those treated. High incidences of cancer deaths have been reported by these groups, and the program features interviews with some of the patients. The program was originally broadcast by the BBC under the title The Sacrifice Zone.
