The five-part series Asia Today offers an in-depth look at the forces catapulting change throughout Asia. It includes accounts of economic, cultural, and social development occurring in large cities and small villages within five regions. Part four, Thailand/Vietnam, examines ways these countries have distinguished themselves as appealing tourist destinations based on their rich histories and pristine natural resources. The kingdom of Thailand draws tourists to its exotic locations with such varied opportunities as jungle treks, rock climbing, and scuba diving, while Vietnam, considered one of the most attractive spots in Southeast Asia, takes advantage of its virgin beaches, peaceful rivers, hills, and mountains.
