The Arabs is a ten-part series created to provide an understanding of the ongoing conflicts within the Arab world by offering an honest look at the history, culture, and society influencing Arab life past and present. Arabs speak for themselves to portray a vivid picture and present keen insight into the fabric of their people. Part four, The Arabs: The Power of the Word, visits war-torn Lebanon, the publishing center of scholarly Arab thought. The program examines the history of poetry and theatre in the Arab world and how in an environment of national and political instability, artists emerge to communicate relevant issues.
