Synopsis by Robert Firsching
Greek filmmaker Marios Retsilas directed this standard war story about a group of nationalistic resistance fighters battling the Nazi invaders during World War II. After a few preliminary acts of sabotage convince them that their efforts are not in vain, they plan a major assault which they feel could turn the tide of the struggle for Greece in their favor. As the title indicates, however, the mission ends with tragic and devastating results. Stefanos Stratigos leads a veteran cast including Efi Economou and Dimitris Fotiadis.
