Synopsis by Eleanor Mannikka

A back-and-forth series of revenge killings, based on a true story, is the focus of this fast-paced, melodramatic, overly emotive actioner. The killings and their denouement are also an indirect way of referring to the overthrow of the Shah of Iran in 1958. When a well-heeled scion of a landowning family becomes enraged at a married woman who refuses his sexual overtures, he kills her. Her husband knows who committed the murder and bides his time until he captures the wealthy killer in the tent of a gypsy woman and stabs him to death. Then the father of the dead man accuses the gypsies of killing his son and after rounding up his paid assassins, he catches up with the gypsies -- who had run away in fear -- and murders them. That act does not end the saga, it continues until the people themselves rise up against the landowning patriarch and his henchmen.
