Synopsis by Brian J. Dillard

Former series regular Vincent Kartheiser returns to the fray as Angel (David Boreanaz) comes face to face with the son he had to give up. When college student Connor becomes the target of evil sorcerer Cyvus Vail (Dennis Christopher), his parents turn to Wolfram & Hart for help. They don't know that Connor is actually Angel's son, "adopted" by them when Wolfram & Hart's sorcerers overhauled reality to give the troubled teen the idyllic childhood he never had (see "Home"). Unfortunately, Vail has a score to settle with Angel's old enemy Sahjahn (Jack Conley), and he's aware of the prophesy that only Connor can kill the demon. Vail also knows about the spell that altered Connor's memories, and he isn't above reversing it to help engineer Sahjahn's downfall. As Angel scrambles to protect Connor from remembering the pain and suffering of his real upbringing, Hamilton (Adam Baldwin) tries to strike another Faustian deal with Gunn (J. August Richards), and Illyria (Amy Acker) continues her acclimation to the mortal coil. Originally broadcast April 21, 2004, on the WB network, "Origin" marked season five, episode 18 of the supernatural soap opera.
