Synopsis by Sandra Brennan
This Taiwanese drama examines the coping mechanisms of a man repeatedly sodomized in prison. The young victim, Mao, has been sentenced to two years in prison. At that time he is frequently traumatized by the cruel guards. After each painful incident, Mao consoles himself by having sexual fantasies about the lovely young woman Wen, with whom he has never made love. Upon his release, Mao and Wen marry, but their troubles are not over, as every time Mao attempts to make love, he is plagued by debilitating, painful flashbacks about his prison experience. Their marriage is on the brink of destruction when Mao runs off and Wen is impregnated by another man during a one night stand. It takes the couple a long time to reconcile and heal, but eventually, they do and happiness ensues.
