Synopsis by Mark Deming

A woman possesses a talent that's unexpectedly rare and valuable in this offbeat sci-fi drama from Israeli filmmaker Assaf Tager. In the not so distant future, humans have lost the ability to dream, which causes most folks to be incapable of restful sleep. Mr. Terrier (Liron Levo) is a savvy businessman who has discovered an old man who is still capable of dreaming, and has found a way to tap into his subconscious while keeping him in suspended animation, broadcasting his dreams for those who can't produce their own. Unfortunately, the old man is in poor health, and as his death looms, Terrier fears his business will disappear. Sarah (Sarah Adler) is a woman who has regained the power of dreaming, and when she's discovered by Terrier, he tries to lure her into the unenviable role of giving her dreams to a world of strangers. Andente received its North American premiere at the 2011 South by Southwest Film Festival.
