Synopsis by Alice Day
The efforts of King Kamehameha to gain control of all the Hawaiian Islands is discussed in Ancient Tribes: The Hawaiians, as the series continues to cover historic civilizations. Re-enactments of important conflicts and maps of pertinent regions are shown. With on-location filming, and images of ruins and other remains of the cultures, a clear picture emerges, when combined with narration of the accomplishments of the tribes. In 1795, JKamehameha achieved victory in Oahu, the last island not under his rule, and brought all the islands under his leadership.
