This lively series continues with an examination of the history of ancient Chinese culture, and is hosted by the personable archaeologist Arizona Smith and his able, young assistant. Ancient Civilizations for Kids: Ancient China covers the first four dynasties: the Han, the Q'in, the Chou, and the Shang. Archaeologists were thrilled to find an army of clay soldiers in the tomb of Emperor Q'in, which added considerably to their information about the Q'in period. The program discusses developments including the Great Wall, the silk industry, writing, and bronze. The series is aimed at children in grades three through seven.
