Shunji Oga's anime adventure Amon Saga concerns an adventurous young man whose main goal is to kill those responsible for his mother's murder. The man ends up becoming a part of the Imperial army and gains respect after surviving the grueling initiation process. He becomes involved with a princess whose emperor father may not have her best interests at heart.
