Synopsis by Brooke Hodess
Through his covers and illustrations for the Saturday Evening Post, the Ladies' Home Journal, and Look, Norman Rockwell (1894-1978) chronicled American life for over 60 years. Using humor, Rockwell combined realism and idealism to portray people -- families in particular -- from all walks of life. Part of the series on American Painters, this ten-minute video produced by Lucerne Media provides a comprehensive, introductory look at Rockwell's work from 1912 to the advent of the space age. Lucerne Media has been serving the educational and public library market since 1974.
