Synopsis by Eleanor Mannikka
Three runners are the focus of this sports documentary that follows their activities from the New York City marathon in 1979 to various highlights in an exericise-filled trip across the U.S.A. The three go kayaking in Tennessee, bicycling in Oklahoma, and jogging in the Grand Canyon. More strenuous fun follows in some very scenic locations as they take advantage of good weather and local sports activities. Along with the physical challenges, there are moments of intermission, such as taking a ride in a hot air balloon. It is no surprise that these amateur athletes do exceptionally well when tested at the Human Performance Lab at the University of California, Davis campus.
