Synopsis by Rob Ferrier
This video chronicles the growing American disillusionment with a war many came to regard not only as morally bankrupt, but as a conflict the U.S. could not possibly win. The policies of Richard Nixon's administration are investigated, from troop pull-outs to stepped-up bombing and massive armament shipments to Saigon. Broad in scope and responsible in detail, this video makes good use of the huge amount of archival film available on the war. Its serious tone and responsible history makes this episode entirely appropriate for use in the college classroom.
