Synopsis by Rob Ferrier
This video explores the beginning of the peace process that eventually brought an end to the Vietnam War. While diplomats argued about table size in Paris, young men continued to kill each other in Southeast Asian jungles. The initial meetings provided only the groundwork for a peace process that eventually would require four more years. Broad in scope and responsible in detail, this video makes good use of the huge amount of archival film available on the war. Its serious tone and responsible history makes this episode entirely appropriate for use in the college classroom.
