Synopsis by Alice Day
Family members and other caregivers tending to persons suffering from Alzheimer's disease may find that there are times when these patients refuse their care. Alzheimer's and Dementia Care Skills relates that this is a common problem, and looks at why it might occur. Because these patients can no longer voice their concerns in the usual manner, resistance may be a means of communication for them as they try to cope with their illness. The program offers opinions from health care personnel and adminstration officials, and suggests different methods to solve the dilemma.
