Synopsis by Hal Erickson
Alf's Button, the popular farcical novel and play by W. A. Darlington, was too popular not to prompt a sequel. Whereas Alf's Button involved a button fashioned from Aladdin's Lamp, Alf's Carpet finds the titular hero coming into the possession of a magic carpet. He uses this device to rescue his pal Bill from the machinations of an evil caliph. The once-popular musical hall team of Pat and Patchon star as Bill and Alf, respectively. Though chronologically Alf's Button was written before Alf's Carpet, it was the latter property that first made it to talking pictures in 1929.
