Synopsis by Hal Erickson
Inveterate gambler Sheridan (played by Ed Gardner of Duffy's Tavern fame) is convinced that his recent streak of luck is due to the power of prayer. Accordingly, Sheridan contributes heavily to the church-repair fund of neighborhood priest Father Amian (Claude Rains). Hoping to further extend his generosity, Gardner tips the father off to a "sure thing" in an upcoming race -- and against his better judgment, Father Amian hands over 500 dollars in church funds for Gardner to bet at the track. In the end, the "sure thing" loses -- but the church still comes out the winner.
