Synopsis by Jason Buchanan

An affecting tale of AIDS and addiction set against an inner city backdrop, After April tells the tale of Patrick (Michael McKiddy) as he struggles to overcome his drug addiction and to find April (Stephany Slongo), the girl who infected him with HIV. Though his parents could care less about him and his addiction has nearly destroyed what little life he has, a chance encounter with Eve (Angela Duffy) offers a glimmer of hope for Patrick's seemingly bleak and short future. Eve is a fellow junkie who is equally determined to break herself of addiction, and the two plan to escape their inner-city trappings and start anew with the help of Eve's aunt before Patrick receives some troubling news. Informed by a letter that his blood has been refused for unspecified reasons, Patrick soon finds out he is HIV-positive. Tracing the virus back to junkie-turned-prostitute April, with whom he had previously had unprotected sex in the alley behind a local bar, Patrick enlists the help of Eve and his philosophical dealer Carney (Ethan Jordan) in finding April before the cycle of infection spirals out of control.
