Synopsis by Hans J. Wollstein
Because her mother was attacked by a leopard during her pregnancy, Peg (Grace Cunard) suffers a strange malady that makes her dangerous to others every night at midnight in this action serial produced by Universal. Although the end result was quite successful, the serial's conception was fraught with difficulties. Director/leading man Francis Ford and scenarist/leading woman Cunard left the serial, reportedly due to the obnoxious behavior of supporting player Eddie Polo. They were right away substituted with Ruth Stonehouse, and -- incredibly -- the very same Polo whose high opinion of his own worth became legendary in Hollywood. Stonehouse and Polo never really worked out, and studio head Carl Laemmle persuaded Ford and Cunard to return, at great cost to Universal. Ford's younger brother, future director John Ford, played one of the villains in this 15-chapter serial.
