Synopsis by Elizabeth Smith
Guitarist Alex de Grassi has toured extensively around the world and performed in front of appreciative audiences at Carnegie Hall and the Kennedy Center. On this video, he discusses melodies and counter-melodies, two-hand tapping, percussive slapping, double hammer-ons, harmonics, and how to develop powerful chord structures. Special attention is paid to three of his most popular tunes: "Lost in the Woods," "Western," and "The Monkulator." While playing these songs, de Grassi carefully explains the technique that makes these tunes so unique. Split-screen cameras help viewers follow along.
