Synopsis by Jonathan Crow
P.C. Barua directs this melodrama about class and caste. Nikhilesh (Barua) is in love with the beautiful heiress Indira (Jamuna). Meanwhile, an impoverished orphan named Radha (Menaka Devi) shows up at Indira's abode, claiming to be Indira's relative and therefore part recipient of Indira's claim to the family fortune. Soon after Indira agrees to give her a cut, Radha tries to seduce Nikhilesh. Later, it emerges that Radha is, in fact, the only rightful heir and Indira is turned out into the streets. In spite of this, Nikhilesh remains loyal to her and they live together in abject poverty, while Radha marries Ratan, her sweetheart from her days of living in the slums.
