Synopsis by C. Dwayne Smith
Brought to video by Cromwell Productions, this documentary sets its sights on the famed Steel Tigers of the elite German Panzer forces. From a technical viewpoint, both the Tiger and Panther tanks of the German Wermacht were far superior to anything the allies rolled over the Rhine. The massive machinery looked down its barrel at both the T-34 Russian counterpart and the American Sherman, but it was not enough to alter the outcome of World War II. While in the trenches, the Tigers faired very well, including a documented single Tiger with 150 T-34 kills, but the sheer volume of the Allied and Russian mechanized brigades is what eventually snared the Steel Tiger.
