This video features ABC Evening News anchorman Peter Jennings, as he provides background and analysis of the Persian Gulf War. Presented are the military debriefings of Army General H. Norman Schwarzkopf. Oil interests and the balance of power in the Middle East were at stake. General Schwarzkopf pursued a strategy that entailed five weeks of intensive air war followed by a ground assault that lasted exactly 100 hours, until the government of Iraq surrendered. The film contains, in its entirety, Schwarzkopf's explanation of the military tactics that led to the successful conclusion of the war.
