Synopsis by Janiss Garza
May Allison stars in this comedy-drama. Two brothers of the South, Lionel and Daniel Houston (Frank Currier and Edward Connelly), love the same woman. Daniel wins her, and Lionel leaves for the North, swearing never to speak to his brother again. Daniel's wife dies, not long after giving birth to a daughter, Virginia. The years go by and Lionel makes a killing in the stock market while Daniel's money begins to run low. An aunt leaves him a large amount of money, providing he and his brother make up, and Virginia, now a young woman (Allison), travels up North in an attempt to make it happen. Incognito, she gets a job as a maid in Lionel's home and soon she is practically running the whole house. She falls for Lionel's adopted son, Perry (Harry Hilliard), but Perry is infatuated with Rose Mason (Christine Mayo). He doesn't realize that Rose is playing with him so that she can get her hands on the secret code book his father uses with his brokers to make trades. Before revealing her true identity, Virginia foils the plot, and Perry saves her from the clutches of Rose's associate, Henry Dubois (Fred Jones). Virginia also brings the feuding brothers together and they make up.
