Director and writer Paulo Augusto Gómes has created an old-fashioned story about the 50th wedding anniversary of a supposedly happily-married couple. After the celebrations are over and friends and relatives have gone home, the husband reveals to his wife that he had an affair in the early stages of their marriage -- and regretted ever after that he did not leave with his mistress. Flashbacks show the lovers long ago, and make the contrast of past and present all the more painful.
