Synopsis by Eleanor Mannikka

A Turkish family's will to survive is the leitmotif of this standard fare from director Muammer Ozer. After the family arrives in Istanbul from the countryside, they find -- to their shock -- that they have no place to stay. The friend who was to house them has been killed in an accident. So the desperate family sets up a temporary home in an abandoned bus. Fortunately, the father gets a job on the railroad, and the mother is able to transform the bus into a home. She even starts a small garden plot that adds to the family's sustenance. But some misanthropic apartment dwellers resent the eyesore bus and the squatters, so they complain to the police. The result is that the squatters are ousted, the dilapidated bus is taken away -- and the family is left with a serious dilemma again.
