Synopsis by Hal Erickson

Having inaugurated his association with Triangle Films with the 4-reel My Valet, comedy producer Mack Sennett quickly reverted to the 2-reel format which suited him best. Sennett's first Triangle 2-reeler was A Game Old Knight, with Charlie Murray as the title character and Louise Fazenda, Slim Summerville and Edgar Kennedy in support. Commanded by his king to marry a homely princess (Fazenda), the Game Old Knight (Murray) -- who is none too good-looking himself -- chooses instead to be executed. A group of insurrectionists rescue our hero from the firing squad, only to hold him prisoner themselves. This plot twist requires that the Knight be rescued again, this time by a bunch of Keystone Kop-like noblemen. The film is highlighted by a torture-chamber sequence that, despite its grim surroundings, was screamingly funny.
