Synopsis by Cecilia Cygnar
Ballet comes alive in this instructional video that uses flowers and garden imagery as characters to help children remember ballet steps and names. Ballet instructor Rosemary Boross uses original music and lyrics as a child-friendly background to the ballet movements. The class includes a warm-up session, stretching and strengthening exercises, basic motor skills, rhythmics, and easy ballet steps. In addition to actual ballet instruction, the video also covers the proper format of a dance class, spatial directions, and working together in groups. All of the lessons work together to help children with ballet as well as other social activities. This video is appropriate for pre-schoolers.
