Synopsis by Eleanor Mannikka
Jongdu (Chung Yoon-hee) is a young man with the responsibility of casting a new bell for a temple (the old bell was taken away by the Japanese in World War II), and he looks all over his village for pieces of bronze or brass to melt down for the task. At the same time, he is in a dilemma about his feelings for a pretty artist from Seoul -- another man is almost at a point to propose marriage to her, and her father does not like Jongdu. Between past traditions and present realities, Jongdu has his challenges set out for him.
