Synopsis by Tom Ciampoli

This compelling documentary takes a look at African-American single-mother households, and ponders possible factors for the fact that 72% of black children are born out of wedlock. The opinions of everyone from sociological experts to single mothers themselves are included in interviews, and the film probes further into the media coverage and statements in regards to black single-parent families. 72%'s comprensive view of this phenomenon is framed by one single mother who shifts from a full-time employee to a caretaker in order to support her children.
